AMI was founded by visionary young Brothers and sisters of different professional backgrounds with the purpose to initiate, promote and conduct short term technical training, consultancy and research to artisanal as well as small scale miners in Tanzania. Such trainings are related to Geology, Mineral Processing, Mining, Environment, Occupation Health and Safety and Entrepreneurship in mining value chain.
The organization was registered on 27th of March, 2018 under the Companies Act No. 12 of 2002 and issued with certificate of incorporation No.136210033 as a company limited by guarantee (not for profit making company) with all qualifications to carry out activities of non-governmental organization.
One of the most exciting challenges facing the country today is that of finding ways and means of upgrading the skills of the population in general and skills of those people who lack formal educational qualifications in particular. Ways must be examined in which training can contribute towards upgrading skills, improve safety, quality, production performances and competitiveness. In today’s fast-paced world, it is not simply a case of having the necessary professional skills; people must develop interpersonal skills alongside their ability to handle the changes brought about by technological progress. To provide these skills AMI has a vital role to play. At AMI, we initiate, promote and conduct short term technical training, consultancy and research to artisanal as well as small scale miners in Tanzania. Such trainings are related to Geology, Mineral Processing, Mining, Environment, Occupation Health and Safety and Entrepreneurship in mining value chain.

To help Artisanal miners to derive the greatest benefit for their improved livelihood in communities while minimizing the environmental and social consequences.
Practical oriented trainings and courses, accompanied with practical tools; the college is equipped with different machines which assure good practice and experience in today mining technology.
